Santa Tries To Find Stirchley Community Market

We have a particularly festive line-up planned for the market on Tuesday 14th December.

What is that tinkling you hear? No, it is not tinnitus, it is the first bell of Yuletide and it announces the presence of Capeling and Co, cheese mongers extraordinaire, who will be on hand to provide you with all that is necessary for your Christmas dinner plate of fromage. They will also be teaming up with some of our regular stall-holders, such as Artisan Preserves, to create Stirchley hampers of the highest specification – ideal presents for hungry realtives! Not to be outdone, Stirchley Wines have sourced Β some extra special Xmas beers, some of which are rumoured to be filtered through snowflakes (this last bit may not be true). Most people love Chrimbo, but some merely complain that it is too cold to enjoy oneself – for these modern-day humbugs we have an appearance from the Home Energy Survey who will soften the stoniest heart with a plethora of energy saving tips to ensure that tropical temperatures needn’t mean astronomical prices. Continuing this inescapable theme, there will be vintage Christmas tunes playing through modern speakers and a live vocal performance from some local elves (we mean a local choir). And, as if that wan’t enough, Birmingham historian Linda Chew will be tickling nostalgia nodes with a display of yesteryear Stirchley landmarks. All in all, this adds up to the best way to spend some time in Stirchley on Tuesday 14th December!
